Join a thriving environment tasked with delivering new and disruptive technologies!

At The TMRW Foundation Cloud and Platform Engineering division, we’re passionate about building a cloud-based social 3D platform, that is easy to use, open for creators, developers, and companies alike.

We count on our Technical Directors not just to define strategy – but to roll up their sleeves and help build, maintain, and improve the systems that power our products.

As we scale, we’re looking for a hands-on DevOps leader with a deep technical foundation, a passion for automation, and a strong sense of ownership across infrastructure, deployment, and operational excellence.

You’ll work closely with engineers, product teams, and leadership to ensure we ship robust, performant systems that deliver great user experiences.

You’ll lead by example – writing code, solving problems, mentoring team members, and driving innovation in everything from CI/CD to Kubernetes to observability.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

  • Architect, manage, and optimize complex infrastructure environments – including Kubernetes, virtual machines, and bare metal deployments.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security across services and clusters.

CI/CD & Automation

  • Design, implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines for reliable, low-friction software delivery.
  • Integrate quality gates such as automated testing, security scans, and rollback strategies.
  • Design and maintain infrastructure workflows that enable developers to deploy and manage services independently through self-service platforms.

Reliability, Monitoring & Observability

  • Build and scale robust monitoring, logging, and tracing systems (e.g., with Grafana stack).
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure systems are observable, debuggable, and performant.
  • Document processes, systems, and configurations thoroughly. Share knowledge and mentor team members to foster a culture of continuous learning.

Application Deployment & Support

  • Partner with engineers to containerize and deploy applications with zero downtime best practices.
  • Onboard new microservices into Kubernetes with strong isolation, scalability, and observability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation
  • during working hours maintain support for developers.

Leadership Responsibilities

Technical & Strategic Leadership

  • Lead by example as a senior individual contributor and mentor; stay close to the code while also driving architectural decisions.
  • Translate business goals into platform strategies and executable roadmaps.
  • Continuously assess risks and propose technical or organizational mitigations.

Team Enablement & Development

  • Support team planning, including on-call coverage, succession planning, and workload balancing.
  • Hold regular 1:1s and team syncs, review technical work, and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, foster a culture of ownership, and ensure back-up/handover procedures are in place.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as a trusted partner to software developers, SREs, product managers, and leadership.
  • Keep communication flowing between engineering teams and management; report progress and risks when necessary.
  • Promote transparency and alignment across teams; create space for open dialogue and innovation.

Culture, Coaching & First-line HR

  • Build and maintain a psychologically safe team environment where people can speak freely and grow.
  • Support first-line HR tasks such as leave approvals, recruitment support, onboarding, and performance conversations
  • Actively mentor team members; develop coaching plans to strengthen skills, autonomy, and impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong background in distributed systems, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, containers, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm).
  • Strong coding/scripting skills – preferably in Bash or Python.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing infrastructure and applications.
  • Expertise in observability tooling (Grafana stack preferred) and performance monitoring.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps and modern security practices in cloud-native environments.

Leadership & Mindset

  • Product- and customer-oriented mindset.
  • Proactive, curious, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • A can-do attitude and not afraid to say “I don’t know – but I can find out.”
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, and fast-moving environments.
  • Able to take initiative independently while also acting as a collaborative team player.

Nice to have:

  • Experience running platforms at scale – across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Prior leadership in hybrid or distributed teams.
